Indonesia's digital landscape is undergoing a massive transformation, and at the heart of this shift is the need for robust, high-speed connectivity. PT Asianet Media Teknologi (Asianet) has officially stepped up to the plate by introducing Unifiber, a cutting-edge Fiber To The Home (FTTH) solution. Built on advanced optical fiber technology, Unifiber isn't just a new product—it is a strategic move designed to meet the skyrocketing demand for digital access across the archipelago.

Aligning with the Vision of Indonesia Digital 2045

The launch of Unifiber is deeply rooted in a larger national ambition. Asianet is positioning this initiative to fully support the 'Vision of Indonesia Digital 2045.' This government-led roadmap focuses on building infrastructure that can sustain gigabit-speed internet, fostering digital literacy, and cultivating a highly skilled workforce. By providing the underlying pipes for this data-driven future, Asianet is helping ensure that Indonesia remains competitive on the global stage.

During the launch event in Jakarta on Thursday, November 7, Asianet President Director Prakash Ranjilkar highlighted the necessity of this evolution. He noted that the company is executing a business plan that recognizes the relentless growth of broadband demand in Indonesia. According to Ranjilkar, sustaining this growth requires more than just more cables—it requires an innovative, sustainable approach to infrastructure development.

Collaboration and Inclusivity

Asianet’s strategy isn't a solitary one. The company is committed to cross-sector collaboration, working alongside the government, industry players, and local communities. The goal is to build an inclusive digital ecosystem where high-speed internet isn't a luxury but a fundamental tool for empowerment. This collaborative spirit is intended to strengthen Indonesia's position in the global digital economy, ensuring that no region is left behind as the country moves toward its 2045 goals.

A World-Class Command Center

To ensure that this massive network runs smoothly, Asianet also inaugurated its world-class Network Operation Center (NOC). This facility is more than just an office; it is a high-tech hub designed to tackle the complexities of modern digital access. Operating 24/7, the NOC serves as the heartbeat of the Unifiber network, providing the resilience and reliability needed to maintain maximum uptime for consumers.

FTTH Network Design

Fiber network designs you can actually rely on.

We handle the heavy lifting. From local surveys in Java & Medan to detailed FTTH grid designs, we make sure your network makes sense.

As Prakash Ranjilkar explained, the dedication of this NOC is a game-changer for the company's service delivery. By having a facility that drives a highly resilient network, Asianet can guarantee the high-quality, active service that modern digital users demand, whether they are streaming, working from home, or running a business.

Current Footprint and Ambitious Expansion

As it stands, Asianet already maintains a formidable presence in Indonesia. The company operates a broadband network spanning over 30,000 kilometers, with more than 1.5 million homepasses already established. Their reach currently covers 36 major cities, including high-traffic hubs like Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Sleman, Surabaya, Denpasar, and Medan.

However, Asianet is not stopping there. With the new NOC facility now active, the company has set an ambitious target: expanding its network to 15 million homepasses. This expansion aims to penetrate every corner of Indonesia, bringing reliable and affordable high-speed internet to millions of new households. Ranjilkar emphasized that this growth aspiration is a direct reflection of their commitment to national digitization.

Government Support and Industry Impact

The initiative has received a warm welcome from the government. Aju Widya Sari, the Director of Telecommunications at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, expressed her appreciation for Asianet’s proactive steps. She noted that the presence of Unifiber is crucial for accelerating internet penetration across the country. In a market where connectivity is vital, having Asianet as a strong provider offers a valuable alternative and complements the efforts of other organizers in the industry. As Indonesia moves closer to its digital goals, the rollout of Unifiber marks a significant milestone in making high-speed connectivity a nationwide reality.
