The landscape of Indonesia's digital economy is about to get a massive AI-powered upgrade. At the Google Cloud Summit Jakarta 2025, a significant partnership was forged that could redefine the local tech scene. Google Cloud, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), has officially launched the "Google for Startups Accelerator Southeast Asia: Indonesia, AI-Focused." This initiative isn't just another corporate program; it is a dedicated mission to empower Indonesian startups that are building the next generation of solutions using generative AI and agentic AI as their foundation.
Empowering the Next Wave of AI Innovation
This new accelerator program is specifically tailored for startups based in Indonesia. The focus is clear: to support those who are integrating advanced AI technologies into their core products. Whether it is a platform using generative AI to create content or agentic AI designed to perform complex autonomous tasks, this program aims to provide the necessary fuel for these innovations to scale. By narrowing the focus to AI, Google Cloud and Komdigi are acknowledging that the future of tech is no longer just about digital transformation—it is about intelligence.
Indonesia has already proven itself as a powerhouse for startups. To date, Indonesian companies have made up more than a quarter of all participants in Google’s regional accelerator programs. The legacy is impressive, with 57 notable alumni including household names like Gojek, NOICE, Aruna, Sekolah.mu, and Kata.ai. These companies haven't just grown; they have become pillars of the national digital economy. In fact, nearly 70 percent of Indonesia's unicorns—those rare billion-dollar startups—are currently building and scaling their solutions on the Google Cloud platform.
The Trillion-Rupiah Economic Potential
The move toward AI isn't just about cool technology; it is backed by massive economic projections. Fanly Tanto, Country Director for Google Cloud Indonesia, shared some staggering figures during the launch at the Ritz Carlton, Jakarta. Citing research from Public First, Tanto noted that if local startups and small businesses can effectively adopt Google Cloud platform services, they could unlock an estimated economic value of Rp 990 trillion by the year 2030. This highlights a clear path where cloud and AI adoption translate directly into national prosperity.

Aligning with Indonesia Emas 2045
From the government’s perspective, this initiative is a crucial step toward a long-term vision. Meutya Hafid, the Minister of Communication and Digital, expressed her strong support for the program, stating that it aligns perfectly with the "Indonesia Emas 2045" (Golden Indonesia 2045) vision. The government envisions a future where technology, particularly artificial intelligence, acts as a catalyst for equitable and sustainable economic growth across the archipelago.
Meutya emphasized the importance of the ecosystem, believing that with the right support, Indonesia's youth will not only solve local challenges but will also represent the nation on the global stage. The partnership between the public sector and a global tech giant like Google serves as a bridge for young innovators to access world-class resources.
What the Program Offers: More Than Just Mentorship
The first cohort of this program is set to be highly competitive, with only 20 startups being selected for an intensive three-month training period starting in September 2025. One of the most attractive features for founders is that the program is completely equity-free, meaning startups can receive high-level support without having to give up a portion of their company.
Selected startups will receive a comprehensive package of benefits designed to accelerate their growth. This includes up to US$350,000 in Google Cloud credits, full access to Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI technology stack, and specialized training at Komdigi’s Digital Innovation Hub. Beyond the tech, the human element is equally strong. Participants will receive direct guidance from Google experts and veteran mentors from top-tier ecosystem partners, including Alpha JWC Ventures, DANA Indonesia, and Monk’s Hill Ventures. The journey will culminate in a Demo Day, where founders will have the opportunity to pitch their AI-driven solutions to a room full of potential investors, opening doors to future funding and strategic partnerships.
