The digital landscape in Indonesia, particularly across the island of Java, is moving at a breakneck pace. As the demand for high-speed, reliable internet continues to skyrocket, infrastructure providers are stepping up to bridge the gap. In a significant move to strengthen its service quality, ION Network, a prominent Network Service Provider (NAP) and Internet Service Provider (ISP), has officially announced a strategic collaboration with PT Ketrosden Triasmitra Tbk. This partnership is facilitated through Triasmitra’s subsidiary, PT Jejaring Mitra Persada.
At the heart of this agreement is the utilization of the Jayabaya Submarine Cable Communication System (SKKL Jayabaya). ION Network will utilize this fiber optic (FO) path under an Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) scheme, a long-term agreement that ensures ION has dedicated access to the infrastructure to support its expanding customer base across Java.
Meeting the Surge in Digital Demand
The decision to tap into the Jayabaya line isn't just a business expansion; it’s a response to the evolving needs of the Indonesian market. Ricky Simanjuntak, the Commercial Director of ION Network, highlighted that the rapid evolution of IT and multimedia has turned the internet into a cornerstone of the telecommunications industry and various other sectors. With ION’s customer base growing steadily, the need for robust and scalable telecommunications services has never been more urgent.
According to Ricky, the selection of the SKKL Jayabaya route owned by the Triasmitra Group aligns perfectly with ION’s business development strategy. He noted that the demand in Java is increasing rapidly, making it the primary focus for now. However, ION’s vision isn't limited to Java alone. Ricky mentioned that the company plans to gradually enhance its services outside of Java, ensuring that they can meet customer needs wherever they may arise in the future.
Technical Excellence and Strategic Connectivity
From the perspective of Triasmitra Group, this collaboration is a major milestone. Dani Samsul Ependi, President Director of PT Jejaring Mitra Persada, emphasized that this partnership is highly strategic for the company. The SKKL Jayabaya was specifically built to fortify the telecommunications infrastructure in Java, stretching all the way from West Java to East Java.
Your brand deserves a better website.
We don't just use templates. We build custom web apps, landing pages, and company profiles designed specifically for what you need.
The infrastructure is impressive in its scope, featuring four major landing points strategically located in Tanjung Pakis (Karawang), Cirebon, Kendal, and Banyu Urip (Gresik). Dani revealed that with ION Network joining as a key customer, the utility of the SKKL Jayabaya is now nearing full capacity. This indicates just how vital this specific route has become for the region's connectivity.
Powered by Advanced ROPA Technology
One of the standout features of this agreement is the technological capability being deployed. Under the IRU system for 2 cores (1 pair), ION Network will leverage capacity powered by Remote Optically Pumped Amplifier (ROPA) technology. This advanced tech allows the system to deliver a massive capacity of up to 9 Terabits per second per fiber pair (Tbps/FP).
This high-capacity throughput is essential for handling the data-heavy requirements of modern multimedia services and high-speed internet applications. It ensures that ION Network can provide a seamless experience for its users, even as data consumption continues to grow.
A Long-Standing Synergy
This latest agreement isn't the first time ION and Triasmitra Group have joined forces. The two entities have a history of successful collaborations involving both submarine and inland fiber optic cables. This deep-rooted partnership reflects a mutual trust and a shared goal of improving Indonesia's digital infrastructure.
Looking ahead, both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening this cooperation. By continuing to innovate and expand their infrastructure capabilities, ION Network and Triasmitra Group aim to provide even better services to ION’s customers, ensuring that Indonesia remains well-connected in an increasingly digital world.
