MettaDC ID01 Officially Opens: A $2.6 Billion Vision to Power Indonesia's Digital Future

The Indonesian digital landscape just received a massive infrastructure boost. PT MettaDC Teknologi Indonesia (MettaDC) has officially inaugurated its first flagship data center project, MettaDC ID01. This marks a significant milestone for the company, as they enter the market with a high-specification facility designed to meet the growing demands of the country's booming digital economy.
Located strategically in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, West Java, the MettaDC ID01 represents a substantial investment of US$200 million. With an initial capacity of 30 MW, the facility is positioned as a critical hub for data processing and storage. The grand opening ceremony, held at The Ritz Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, was attended by high-ranking officials including the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Johnny G. Plate, and the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, underscoring the national importance of this project.
Meeting the Surge in Digital Demand
Sukoco Halim, the President Director of PT MettaDC Teknologi Indonesia, highlighted that the rapid rise of digital applications across the archipelago has created an urgent need for robust data infrastructure. According to Halim, Indonesia has the potential to become a leading player in the global advanced technology market. MettaDC aims to provide the necessary digital backbone to support both national and global scale operations.
High-Density Specifications and Security
MettaDC ID01 is not just another storage facility; it is a high-density powerhouse built on 1.8 hectares of land. The architecture includes a three-story IT Hall capable of housing 3,000 racks. To ensure seamless connectivity, the site is equipped with four distinct dark fiber optic routes.

Security and durability were clearly top priorities during the design phase. The data center features more than seven layers of "touchless" security systems, minimizing physical contact while maximizing protection. Furthermore, the Data Hall’s raised floor is engineered to withstand heavy loads of up to 2.5 tons, making it suitable for the most demanding enterprise hardware.
Comprehensive Amenities and Certifications
Beyond the technical hardware, MettaDC has focused on creating a functional environment for its clients and staff. The facility includes a Dedicated Working Space, Smart Meeting Rooms, an Electric Staging Station, and even an Entertainment Room. For operational efficiency, the company also provides dedicated operational vehicles on-site.
Reliability is guaranteed through a suite of prestigious certifications. MettaDC ID01 has already secured ISO 27001, ISO 9001, PCI DSS, and TVRA certifications. It also boasts an Uptime Tier III Design certification, with operational certifications (TCCF and TCOS) currently in the final stages of processing.
A Bold Roadmap to 500 MW
The launch of ID01 is only the beginning of a much larger journey. Sukoco Halim revealed that MettaDC plans to aggressively expand its footprint across Indonesia. Over the next five years, leading up to 2027, the company has set an ambitious target to operate a total data center capacity of 500 Megawatts (MW). This massive expansion will involve a total estimated investment of US$2.6 billion, signaling MettaDC's commitment to becoming a dominant force in the regional infrastructure sector.
