In an era where digital connectivity has become the backbone of economic growth, PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), also known as Surge, is making significant waves. Through its subsidiary, PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave), the company has officially entered into a strategic partnership with 50 local Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This massive collaboration is designed to accelerate the expansion of internet infrastructure and ensure that high-quality connectivity reaches a broader segment of the Indonesian population.
This move is more than just a corporate agreement; it is a calculated step toward narrowing the digital divide in Southeast Asia's largest economy. By leveraging the expertise and local reach of these 50 ISPs, Surge aims to provide a reliable and affordable digital experience for millions of households that have previously been underserved or overlooked by traditional infrastructure rollouts.
A Unified Vision for Digital Inclusion
CEO of Solusi Sinergi Digital (WIFI), Yune Marketatmo, explained that this strategic partnership is a core component of the company’s long-term commitment. The goal is to fortify Indonesia's digital ecosystem by providing infrastructure that is not only high-performing but also accessible to the masses. Marketatmo expressed strong optimism regarding the synergy between Weave’s robust infrastructure and the local insights of their ISP partners.
With the support of these 50 local partners and Weave’s existing technological edge, the company is confident in its ability to deliver premium internet connectivity to 25 million homes. While the primary focus currently resides in Java, the strategy includes significant plans for development outside of Java to ensure national coverage and digital equity.
Preparing for a Connectivity Surge
The leadership at Weave shares this enthusiasm. Hermansjah Haryono, President Director of Weave, welcomed the 50 ISPs into the fold, noting that the collaboration is perfectly aligned with the company’s mission. He highlighted that the partnership is a proactive measure to prepare for the inevitable spike in demand for high-speed connectivity in the coming years. By building this network now, Weave and its partners are positioning themselves as the primary providers for the next generation of digital consumers.

The Powerhouse Infrastructure: 7,000 KM of Fiber Optics
Surge is not entering this partnership empty-handed. The company has already built a formidable foundation for its digital services. To date, Surge operates a fiber optic backbone spanning 7,000 kilometers, strategically placed along railway lines and other key corridors across Java. This unique placement allows for a more secure and efficient distribution of data across the island.
To complement this physical network, the company has invested heavily in bandwidth capacity. Surge currently offers a massive capacity of up to 64,000 Gbps, ensuring that as more users come online, the network remains stable and fast. This level of investment is crucial for supporting modern applications that require high throughput and low latency.
Empowering the Future with Edge Computing
Beyond just cables and bandwidth, Surge is looking toward the future of data processing. The company has already deployed 58 Edge Data Centers (EDC) in various cities across Java. These facilities are designed to bring data processing closer to the end-user, reducing latency and improving the performance of Cloud-based services.
Currently, these Edge Data Centers are being utilized by ISPs for colocation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions, which are vital for Cloud service providers. The potential for growth in this sector is immense, with Surge identifying up to 592 potential locations for future EDC expansion. This infrastructure will play a critical role in supporting the next wave of digital transformation in Indonesia, from Cloud Computing to the Internet of Things (IoT).
