ITD Summit 2026: How TelkomGroup is Turning AI into a Practical Powerhouse with TELIS and BigBox AI

The conversation around Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shifted from science fiction to a daily work essential. At the recent IT and Digital Summit (ITD Summit) 2026 held in Bandung, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) proved that they aren't just talking about the future—they are building it. The event served as a massive showcase for how AI is being integrated into the very fabric of Indonesian industries to drive digital transformation and operational excellence.

This summit wasn't just another corporate gathering; it was a strategic consolidation of 24 distinct AI use cases developed by various business units and operating companies within the TelkomGroup. The goal is clear: to create integrated, scalable solutions that can be applied both internally and for external clients across various sectors. By fostering a spirit of collaboration, Telkom is accelerating the move toward a more digitally mature Indonesia.

The Rise of the AI Native Organization

One of the biggest highlights of the summit was the Telkom AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE). This initiative is the heartbeat of Telkom’s "AI Native" pillar, a strategy designed to embed AI into the core of their internal processes. By doing so, Telkom aims to boost employee productivity while simultaneously enhancing the quality of customer service. The focus here is on being adaptive and efficient, ensuring that the technology works for the people, not the other way around.

Legal work is often seen as a mountain of paperwork and endless hours of research. Enter the Telkom Legal Intelligence System, or TELIS. During the summit, Telkom's President Director Dian Siswarini personally reviewed how this Cognitive AI-based application is changing the game.

TELIS is designed to manage, search, and analyze policy documents with incredible speed. Imagine having to sift through hundreds of complex legal documents to find a specific clause—TELIS can summarize and present that critical information in just seconds. This allows leaders to make data-driven decisions almost instantly, removing the bottlenecks traditionally associated with legal reviews.

BigBox AI: Empowering Data-Driven Governance

Beyond the legal realm, Telkom also featured BigBox AI, a big data analytics powerhouse. This solution has already seen real-world success, notably with the West Java Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Jawa Barat). BigBox AI helps organizations manage and analyze massive datasets to support more effective decision-making. Whether it's improving operational efficiency or strengthening data security, BigBox AI provides the analytical depth needed in today’s data-heavy environment.

Scalability and the Augmented Workforce

Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, Telkom’s Director of IT Digital, emphasized that these solutions are not one-off experiments. They are built to be flexible and scalable. According to Faizal, the design allows these technologies to be easily replicated across various government agencies and private institutions. This is a core part of Telkom’s vision for an "augmented workforce" on a national scale—where AI acts as a co-pilot for human workers, allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks while the AI handles the data-heavy lifting.

A Unified Technological Ecosystem

The ITD Summit 2026 was a true family affair for TelkomGroup. A total of 13 booths from various subsidiaries—including Telkomsel, Telin, Infomedia, and Nuon—showcased their own unique tech innovations. The presence of Digiserve, Finnet, Sigma, and Telkom Akses further demonstrated that smart technology development is being standardized across all lines of business within the group.

By the end of the summit, the message from TelkomGroup was loud and clear: they are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and cross-entity collaboration. The digital solutions unveiled in Bandung are expected to have a tangible impact, acting as the catalyst for Indonesia’s rapid digital acceleration in the years to come.
