Indonesia's digital landscape is witnessing a significant transformation as PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk, widely known as Surge (WIFI), takes a massive leap forward. Through its subsidiary, PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave), the company has officially inked a strategic collaboration with over 50 local Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This move is not just a business expansion; it is a critical step in fortifying the nation's internet infrastructure and ensuring that high-quality connectivity reaches the heart of local communities.

This expansive partnership focuses on the provision of essential telecommunications services. Weave is set to provide backbone infrastructure, core rental, network capacity, and strategic collocation meeting points. These services are designed to be the nervous system for local ISPs, allowing them to deliver faster and more reliable internet access to their respective regions. By leveraging Weave’s strategic locations, these ISPs can now tap into a robust network that was previously out of reach.

A Robust Backbone Built on Steel Tracks

What sets Surge apart in the competitive telecommunications market is its unique infrastructure. To date, the company operates an impressive 7,000 km fiber optic backbone that runs primarily along railway lines across the island of Java. This strategic positioning provides a secure and highly stable pathway for data transmission, minimizing the risks of accidental cable cuts often found in traditional roadside deployments.

Beyond the physical cables, Surge has invested heavily in the "lungs" of the network. The company has secured a massive bandwidth capacity of up to 64,000 Gbps. This scale is intended to handle the skyrocketing demand for data-heavy applications, from high-definition streaming to industrial IoT operations. To ensure that latency remains low for users, the company has also deployed 58 Edge Data Centers (EDCs) across various cities in Java, with plans to expand this number to a staggering 592 locations. These EDCs are currently being utilized by ISPs for colocation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions, bringing cloud services closer to the end-user.

The ambition of Surge and Weave extends far beyond simple connectivity. The company recently made headlines for its collaboration with Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN). This partnership integrates ICT services with gas pipeline development, aiming to provide digital solutions to 2.5 million households in both the residential and commercial sectors. This cross-industry synergy highlights Surge’s commitment to building a holistic digital ecosystem.

On the hardware front, Surge has teamed up with global tech giant Nokia. This end-to-end network connectivity partnership is the engine behind their goal to provide affordable, high-speed internet to 25 million households. While the initial focus remains on the densely populated island of Java, the roadmap includes an aggressive expansion to other major islands across the Indonesian archipelago. The company has already reached a milestone by completing the first phase of 200,000 local homepasses and is currently working toward a larger goal of 1 million fixed broadband connections.

A Growing Ecosystem of Industry Leaders

The scale of PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem's influence is reflected in its diverse portfolio of over 200 partners and clients. The list reads like a 'who's who' of the tech world, featuring names such as NTT Indonesia, Starlink Service Indonesia, MyRepublic, Lightstorm, and Huawei Cloud. Other notable partners include Trans Hybrid Communication, Lintas Arta, Asianet, and the Bersama Digital Data Centre (BDDC). This vast network ensures that Weave remains at the epicenter of Indonesia's digital evolution.

Yune Marketamo, CEO of Surge, emphasized that this latest collaboration with 50 ISPs is a core part of their mission to democratize internet access. He noted that by combining the strengths of local providers with Weave’s superior infrastructure, the company is optimistic about hitting its connectivity targets. Hermansjah Haryono, President Director of Weave, echoed this sentiment, stating that the company is fully prepared to handle the projected spike in data needs as Indonesia continues its journey toward becoming a digital-first nation.
